Premise[]
A world where skills and stars (strength of skills) given by God are considered important. When Ivy, a child of the village of Latomi, was five years old, she was given only tamer skills without stars on her Star Ceremony. Ivy is abandoned, abused, disowned, and hated by her once loving family for not having stars and goes to live in the forest after fleeing her now abusive home. Only the old woman, a fortune teller, who takes pity on her and treats her without prejudice and visits her in the forest to offer help and advice. When Ivy was eight years old, the fortune teller died from an illness, and Ivy was almost killed by the village chief and her family as an unlucky and abominable child, so she sets out on a journey to the town of Otorwa, which the fortune teller had told her before her death.
Along the way, she sells the field mice that she catches in her traps and scavenges the garbage at the dump, and in the forest she tames the weakest kind of monster, a crumbling slime, and names it Sora.
Description[]
In Ivy's world, stars are everything. She's a Tamer, born to subdue monsters and animals, but she was also born starless! With her life in danger, Ivy flees into the forest where she befriends a weak little slime named Sora—the one creature she can tame. Together, the unlikely pair set off on a journey, salvaging rubbish to survive. Along the way they'll win hearts, evade danger, and discover there's more to starless Ivy than meets the eye!
Plot[]
Young Ivy can't catch a break. Though she has a few memories of her past life, she was reborn into an RPG-like world in the weakest class, and worse, as the weakest rank. As a no-star Tamer, even her parents and her siblings want nothing to do with her, and she soon realizes she must survive on her own. She learns to live off the land and salvage what she can from other people's leavings. But when Ivy manages to tame Sora, a lowly slime, everything changes for both of them. There's something special about this frail little monster, and Ivy's care will bring out the best in both of them!
Synopsis[]
Ivy is a girl from a previous life that was cut short who is reborn in another world, where people hold multiple skills and are ranked with stars; however, she only has the no star Tamer skill on her Star Ceremony. She is hated, abandoned and abused by her once loving family because of it, forcing Ivy to live in the forest after fleeing her now abusive home; however, the local fortune teller takes pity on Ivy, educating and supplying her. After the fortune teller passes away years later, Ivy leaves the area and finds a weak, dying slime; she tames it, naming her new familiar Sora.
As the story progresses, it's revealed the current headman of Ivy's village is a shortsighted idiot; enforcing the bigotry that drove Ivy off and ignoring the advice of the fortune teller, leading to the village into decline. He brands any villagers who desert as criminals and tries desperately to maintain his power and his reputation, which slowly takes a toll on his sanity.
