Oguto is the captain of Latome village's army. When Ivy entered Latome village, he takes a liking to Ivy and takes care of her. Like many people, he hates Latomi Village's Village Head as he called him an idiot due to his delusions of grandeur and misdeeds towards the starless people especially children. He and his fellow knights arrested both Ivy's parents Tablo and Furefe and her brother Feton to sentence them as criminal slaves, for their cruelties. Oguto took Ivy's older sister Fecilla under his wing as her father figure, to reform her after she was falsely accused of being weak by her family and the Idiot Village Head.

Appearance[]

Oggto is a large man with red hair and scars on the right side of his face and right eyebrow. He's typically seen wearing uniform.

Personality[]

Upon first glance, Oggto is a rough and blunt guard, treating criminals violently, but he is easily scared by bugs and others' screams. In reality, he is a caring and energetic person who takes his job seriously, but easily gets carried away to the point where he regularly gets reprimanded by his vice-captain. Despite this, he is big-hearted man that sympathizes and empathizes with Ivy due to her fleeing Latomi Village and being afraid to reveal her star rank. He even does as far as to inform the entire village watch to monitor Ivy while in town.

Although occasionally single-minded, he learns from his mistakes. When bringing Ivy to old man Lagg's tent shop, he unintentionally drags Ivy due to their differences in stature, but takes that into consideration when taking her hand later to go eat at a restaurant.

History[]

Oggto is first seen guarding the gates to Latome village, slashing down a man's magic bag filled with illegally made alcohol. When Ivy approaches the gate, he intimidates her, but Ivy notes to him the mantis on his shoulder. Once he shoos it away, he asks her what family and where she comes from. When Ivy mentions Latomi village, he assuring her that despite her difficult journey, she'll be fine in the Latome village.

Later when patrolling the village, he encounters Ivy again and is shocked to hear Ivy travelled all the way without a tent, immediately taking Ivy to old man Lagg's tent shop to buy a tent. After Ivy purchases a tent, he returns to patrolling the village but off-screen tells the village watch about Ivy and her recently purchased tent, a fact that became prevalent when Ivy was dealing with adventurers attempting to steal Ivy's tent with false accusations.

On a later day, while Oggto and Vellivera were patrolling the nearby forest, they hear animal and human screams and come to see Ivy next to the remaining two uncaptured harassing adventurers fainted on the ground. After some investigation, all the adventurers harassing Ivy in order to try to exploit her were sentenced to either long-term or lifetime slavery for their crimes. Giving Ivy her reward money for her aid in capturing the adventurers, Oggto suggests Ivy to open a bank account at the trade guild to ease the burden of carrying money, acting as a guarantor. After Ivy creates an account and deposits her money, Oggto and Vellivera invite her to eat nonoshi skewers together. When asking Ivy for her star rank as a tamer, he and Vellivera sense her hesitance, and they assure her she can do good even if her star rank is low.

Later, Oguto and Vellivera see Ivy off as she goes back on the road towards the capital with Oggto telling her to mention his name whenever she's in trouble and to come back anytime. Once Ivy is far enough in the distance, Oguto and Vellivera discuss the poor living conditions of Latomi village, noting that while most of the population left in families, a single 8-year-old girl also left, meaning Ivy was hiding herself as a boy. As Oggto is initially disappointed Ivy couldn't completely open herself to Oguto and Vellivera, Vellivera notes that such is the scars of the difficulties she faced in Latomi village, but that one day she'll tell the truth.

Soon later, Oguto and his fellow knights soon arrested Ivy's parents Tablo and Furefe as well as her older brother, Feton when he and the knights were notified of Ivy's family's actions by Ivy's older sister, Fecilla (who disowned her family) where they will suffer as slaves for their lives. Oguto later took Fecilla under his wing to become a supervisor of Latome's knights as his adoptive daughter.
